School Traffic
Bedgrove schools have been working hard with the children to encourage them to walk to school since the beginning of October and I believe that they have made a difference already. The children are asking their parents to let them walk to school and park away from Ambleside and Ingram Avenue. Many parents are parking in lay-bys and other roads around the estate and to date we have had no complaints about inconsiderate parking in these other areas. There is still a hard core of parents who need persuading to let their children walk at least part of the way and I hope that these are more responsible in their parking. I have noticed that the car park at the Pavilion is not full in the mornings but some parents still feel the need to park on double yellow lines in the entrance road. If you see any car parked inconsiderately please let me know and we will try and encourage them to think about their actions. If you have any pictures or details of offending cars please either email or call me on mjarvis@bedgrove.net or 01296 428507.
Grass cutting damage.
Have you experience chipped or broken windows after the grass cutters have been round. A resident of Brentwood way has now experienced a broken window and a chipped window in the last three years. The company responsible for the grass cutting will repair the damage as they are insured but it seems to take a long time. The council department responsible for the grass cutting has been contacted on several occasions but points you in the direction of the contractors. The resident is happy to cut the grass outside her house herself but this is not allowed by the council as your house insurance will not cover you for any damage. If you have experienced problems please let the residents association know.
