The Bedgrove allotments are going from strength to strength, more than 80% of the site is now occupied and the change to the site is quite dramatic.

Eighteen months ago the site had over 75 vacant plots, now that figure is down to 35 and continues to fall.

The Aylesbury Town Council has recently invested in new security gates at Welbeck Avenue, Ingram Avenue, and Hulbert End this measure has no doubt had an impact and has contributed to the uptake of plots. Over the next few months further improvements to the site will be taking place with a view to improving the appearance of the site.

One problem still remains and that is non plot holders using the site as a dumping ground for rubbish and building rubble. Many residents bordering the allotments have gates from their back gardens opening directly onto the site, some residents are plot holders but others are not. Please remember that the allotment area is private property and plots are rented to tenants, and are for the use of the allotment tenants only, no one has automatic right of entry and the area is not a public footpath or a public right of way.
